LG Watch Sport unveiled with Android Wear 2.0

09 February 2017

Riding on the news of the the LG Watch Sport being announced, Verizon is also releasing a self-branded exclusive smartwatch running Android Wear 2.0 called the Wear24.

First, it allows more watch face customization.

Last month, Google released the fifth and final Android Wear 2.0 developer preview build.

Along with voice dictation, you can now answer messages (across apps, including Facebook Messenger, Google Messenger or WhatsApp) with typing, handwriting, drawing an emoji, or a Smart Reply auto response feature. To differentiate it from other smartwatches, the watch faces on the Wear24 automatically changes the information shown on display according to the location.

LG Watch Sport has a Global Positioning System and heart-rate monitor, which the Watch Style lack.

Android Wear 2.0 launches with the LG Watch Style and the LG Watch Sport. And both devices feature an Apple-inspired "digital crown" rotating power button. Alongside the software, new smartwatches are also expected to be launched tomorrow.

According to the leakster, the two new Google watches will go on sale 9 February in the United States and are called the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style.

Romania govt to keep decree weakening anti-graft fight despite protests
The president said he would challenge the government's decree in court, while the business minister has resigned over the measure. Some analysts say the government hopes the court will overturn the most contentious elements of the decree.

The Sport is rated at IP68, protected from dust and water to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. It is available in three different metallic finishes and connects to interchangeable 18 mm leather or silicone bands. Now it's time to turn our attention to the more attractive option with the LG Watch Sport. Android Wear is a decent smartwatch OS for people who have an Android phone and rely heavily on Google apps like Gmail and Calendar. Wearables is one of the areas in which Apple now is taking the lead, other brands have fallen short in providing updated specs and features that the Apple Watch has and this is what Google will be addressing with Android Wear 2.0. The watch would come with LTE cellular connections and would also have a bigger battery life than usual, so that users could use it independently from their smartphone.

The rugged look of the Quartz might not look well for formal occasions, though, notes TechRadar. It has a 430 mAh battery with wireless charging.

As the name suggests, Style is the more stylish variant and a better buy among the two smartwatches.

The expected price for the LG Watch Sport is $349, while the LG Watch Style will cost $100 less at $249.

After the U.S., both models will be available in Canada, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, UAE, and the United Kingdom in "the coming weeks".

There is already much excitement for the launch of Android Wear 2.0 which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
