The employment numbers beat those of Berkeley, Rice, Stanford and the University of California at Los Angeles; the three-month employment rate of the Eccles School MBA also outperformed that of Brigham Young University.
Supply chain management is eighth in the nation.
"Having strong graduate programs is key to our success as a top research university", said Chancellor Beverly Davenport. To be eligible for the part-time ranking, a program had to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The ranking factors in peer assessment score; average GMAT and GRE scores of part-time MBA students entering in fall 2016; their average years of work experience; their average undergraduate grade-point averages; and percentage of college's MBA program enrollment that is part-time.
"We hold our faculty, staff and programs to the highest standards to provide the most comprehensive and effective education for our students", said Joi Spencer, associate professor and associate dean of SOLES. "Our graduate students - and especially our doctoral students - help us attract stellar faculty". Together with Paul Niehaus, a fellow faculty member in the department of economics at UC San Diego, Muralidharan is also working to improve the design and delivery of anti-poverty programs. "We are very pleased to see those efforts being reflected in the increased ranking".
Based on the rankings, New Jersey is well-represented in a number of fields, including business, law, medicine and more.

"The rankings place a value on our degrees, are a great way to recruit students and show ASU's commitment to academic excellence", she said. It includes detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 business, law, education, engineering, and medicine graduate programs nationwide. The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts ranked 20th overall, with the print-making program rated fifth.
For its 2018 Best Graduate Schools Rankings, released today, U.S. News analyzed almost 2,000 graduate and specialty programs in a wide range of disciplines. "We believe we did the right thing by immediately and proactively reporting the error and providing the correct data to U.S. News as soon as the error was discovered".
A list of Penn State's graduate school rankings, including health disciplines and science specialties ranked in previous years, is available on the U.S. News' website.
Rutgers did not rise high enough in the U.S. News ranking to overtake New Jersey's other law school, Seton Hall School of Law in Newark.
