Police in Houston only confirmed locating the Super Bowl 51 jersey, along with a second Tom Brady jersey stolen from Super Bowl 49.
Mexican authorities obtained a search warrant and recovered the jersey March 12.
Tuesday, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer joined Colin Cowherd and the two unveiled a video that shows how Ortega got into New England's locker room.
"He showed me Warner's jersey with his signature and told me a story about how Warner was surprised that he was in possession of the item", Palafox told the AP.
Hopefully, this dissuades journalists from trying similar moves in the future. Goes in there, loiters around a little while and is seen leaving the locker room - this is the video they're trying to look at right now - seen leaving a little bit later with something under his arm.
The league also announced another jersey worn by Brady in Super Bowl XLIX in 2015 was retrieved after an investigation led by the FBI - both found in possession of an global media member.
The NFL said the jersey was found in "possession of a credentialed member of the global media", and authorities were investigating Monday whether a former Mexican tabloid newspaper executive played a role in the theft.
Crystal Palace 'can upset Chelsea if they are clinical'
Antonio Conte insists Chelsea can not get carried away despite their 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Pedro, Costa, Hazard.
Mexican authorities said they will not charge Ortega because the alleged crime occurred in the United States. Police also located a Brady jersey that had gone missing after the Patriots' 2015 Super Bowl win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Houston police chief Art Acevedo tweeted that the jersey was ultimately located in Mexico. Acevedo didn't name the suspect, but did say that he did not live in Houston.
Russian President Vladimir Putin walked away with Kraft's ring commemorating the team's 2005 Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles when the two met later that year.
Acevedo said that while this case was not a priority, this was the "only blemish" on the Houston Police Department on the Super Bowl. "Due to the ongoing investigation, we would refer any additional questions to the FBI". Both jerseys are now being authenticated by authorities.
Brady, listed as the complainant in the February 6 police report, told reporters the day after the game: "I put it in the bag, and then I came out and it wasn't there anymore".
"He was doing something more than working covering the Super Bowl", Carlos said.
