The bodies of four males believed to have been killed as a result of gang violence discovered at a Long Island park Wednesday night were tentatively identified Thursday.
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) Authorities say the bodies of four men have been found in a suburban NY neighborhood that has for years contended with a growing problem of gang violence.
Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers tells Fox 5 News that the victims, "suffered significant trauma through their bodies".
The motive for the murders is unknown at this time.
Wednesday's discovery came six weeks after 13 alleged MS-13 gang members were indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice for murders.
Tigre's brother, 21-year-old William, told The New York Post that his brother went missing when he went out with two friends, one of which was MS-13 gang member Alex Ruiz.
He added that this brutal killing technique is "consistent with the modus operandi of MS-13".
Police have yet to make "definitive ID's", and on Thursday only identified those killed as four males: one who was 16 years old, two who were 18, and one who was 20.
"We are clearly looking into that possibility, although we have not ruled out any possibilities at this point", Sini said.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte to attend Pippa's wedding
"Prince George (who is 3) will be a page boy, and Princess Charlotte (2 on May 2) will be a bridesmaid", the statement added. He's keeping quiet on any potential dress, too: "I can never really comment on rumors", he told Hello.
Four members were arrested last month in connection to a recent spree of teenage killings in the Brentwood area in 2016, according to police.
George's brother William Tigre, of Bellport, said he'd received a call shortly after the bodies were found from a friend who said he's seen his brother get murdered, he told ABC News.
Relatives of Jorge Tigre, 18, said police told them he is among the dead. "No doubt, we've made tremendous progress", Sini said.
The investigation into the deaths of Kayla Cuevas, 16, and Nisa Mickens, 15, on September 13, 2016 led to the discovery of the skeletal remains of three teenage boys in another section of Brentwood.
Sources familiar with the investigation said the bodies were mutilated, worked over with both blunt and sharpened weapons, presumably bats and machetes.
About a dozen distraught people, including family and friends of the teens, say they have not been heard from since. He is from Florida, and was in the park hanging out with his cousin Banegas from Brentwood, when they were killed along with two others. He previously palled around with an MS-13 member.
Known MS-13 member, Jose Pena-Hernandez, 18, was found dead in October, according to investigators.
Authorities are yet to reveal whether the bodies discovered on Wednesday are linked to the previous youths' deaths.
