Severe storms, tornadoes possible today

The National Weather Service in SC confirmed a tornado touched down west of Saluda.

With the potential for severe weather Wednesday, now is the time to review the important difference between a Tornado Watch and a Tornado Warning.

In addition to possible tornadoes, storms could bring gusty, damaging winds of more than 60 miles per hour and small hail.

During a tornado watch, the weather service suggests that people should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

Wolf went on to say that the National Weather Service is aware that so many warnings can lead to apathy.

Proud said showers and thunderstorms should be tapering off Wednesday evening with showers and isolated thunderstorms still possible overnight.

A chance of thunderstorms are expected to continue through Thursday morning.
