Here's What's New With Android 8.0 Oreo

22 August 2017

Security will be improved with Android 8.0 in a few ways, including adding Google Play Protect as a built-in feature, and giving users a little more control over app installs. Similarly, this new feature will now happen to the video results that you will see on the carousel. These leaks directly suggest that the Google has settled on the choice of Oreo for the Android O.

Google announced today that it would unveil Android O on Monday, 21st August 2017. For everyone else, you'll get Android 8.0 when you throw your existing smartphone out and buy a new one.

The tech giant appears to even have made a point of timing the launch with the solar eclipse that will sweep across the U.S. on the same day, by flooding its official O website with links and references to both events. Leading up to the event, plenty of people had been speculating what the O in the partially revealed name, Android O, might stand for, including oatmeal cookie, octopus and orangina (all Android versions are named after desserts). Whether the providers are included in the new feature or not, it will not impact the ranking of that provider on the Google search results.

Similar to notifications in Apple iPhones, Android O-powered smartphones too will now show the notification count in top corner of the app icon.

Kenya protest: Violence follows re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta
Kisumu is a stronghold of opposition leader Raila Odinga , who is contesting results from last Tuesday's presidential election. The re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta triggered violence across Kenya following the disputed election process.

It should be noted here that Google had concluded the beta test of Android Nougat last week and said the beta test of Android O will begin soon.

Notification Shade: In Android O, there is a little re-ordering of the toggles.

What are your thoughts about Google's next name for the Android Operating System? Now the users can get the multiple window in a screen. This will allow for things like watching a YouTube video or receiving a video call while sending an email or text message.

Google continues to make changes to its core search product in order to enable users to find the information they are looking for faster and easier.
