He said: "Of course none of us will ever forget what happened past year, but I will also never forget how many note fans stayed with us". Samsung touts that you can even use the S Pen to write on the Note 8 when the display is wet.
This is all backed up by a 3300mAh battery, being a few hundred mAh less than the 3600mAh Galaxy S8+. Personally, I would have loved to see a larger battery on board, but can't blame Samsung for playing it safe this year.
The Note8 is also the first Galaxy smartphone with dual camera setup.
It includes 6GB RAM, along with Snapdragon 835 in the US. The secondary 12MP sensor is a telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.4, and it also has support for OIS, as rumoured earlier.
"It's got a massive 6.3" infinity screen and a snazzy rear dual camera, which will add depth to your photos.
There are multiple camera features on board, the most prominent one being Live Focus.
On the front of the phone Samsung has equipped an f/1.7, 8MP, autofocus, camera for your selfie and video chat requirements. This time, both the device and the S Pen get IP68 certification, which makes them both water resistant and dust proof. It is said to have a finer tip and better pressure sensitivity.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be released 15th September, 2017 and will come with a pair of free headphones, since the device will come with a standard headphone jack. The Note 8's take on the color is considerably lighter, and far more on the spectrum of blue rather than purple. You can also create a shortcut to launch two of your most used apps with a single tap on the edge panel. It aims to make full use of the phone's large screen to increase productivity.
It will have the Samsung smart assistant Bixby, a Siri-like helper powered by artificial intelligence, after it was introduced to the United Kingdom and other markets this week.
