Mueller's team sent the request to the White House spelling out 13 different areas that they want to know more about, the paper reported on its website.

The retired lieutenant general was sacked in February after it was revealed he misled Vice President Mike Pence about December phone calls he had with the Russian ambassador at the time Sergey Kislyak. Mueller's new focus on the White House indicates that his investigation continues to accelerate. "It obviously is relevant to his reasons for firing Comey, and thus to the obstruction investigation", O'Sullivan wrote.

Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates has said she warned White House counsel Don McGahn in January that deception left Flynn and the White House in a compromised position.
