30 September 2017

Speaking to Jonathan Ross in an interview due to be aired on ITV tonight, Demi confessed: "There were a few [interventions] but the final one, everyone was like, "We are no longer going to leave, we are leaving".

"My fans have been on this journey with me since I was eight years old and have shared in some of the most important moments in my life", Lovato said.

Demi revealed that this was a huge motivating factor for her to get sober, as she wanted her relationship with her younger sister back.

That tough love paid off, and now Lovato is hoping her experiences helps others going through similar battles. Not only did the singer's former hard-partying ways jeopardize her health, as she recently shared with Jonathan Ross on the United Kingdom host's television show, it was also keeping her from a beloved member of her family: her little sister, Madison de la Garza.

"This chapter of my life represents where I'm at personally and so it's like a giant scrapbook.a musical scrapbook of my life today", she says. The former Disney star sounds comfortable carrying a track, and her vocals contain an understated power that really sells the songs' ultimate message.

"So, I got the help I needed and now I co-own a treatment centre". "I wouldn't be here without them. He was like, 'A lot of people see you do the emotional thing all the time, but they don't see you have fun!' And I was like, 'That's such a good point.' And [his opinion] kind of persuaded other people, too".

Fans speculated on social media this week after Lovato appeared to sing about her Camp Rock co-star in the songs "Ruin the Friendship" and "Only Forever".

The following July, Lovato released "Cool for the Summer", the Max Martin and Wolf Cousins-produced lead single for her fifth studio album, Confident. Lovato also entered the best-selling books chart, with Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, a collection of her thoughts and quotes from those who inspired her during her struggles with addiction and depression.
