McConnell Calls for Roy Moore to Drop Out of Senate Race

14 November 2017

In an interview Friday afternoon with Sean Hannity, Moore denied ever having met Corfman but said he may have dated at least two of the women who spoke to the Post.

Nelson said when she was 16, Moore groped her and tried to force her head onto his crotch in his vehicle behind the restaurant where she worked.

"I want to make it clear to the media present and the people present I have not provided alcoholic beverages - beer or anything else to minors", Moore said, responding to charges that he bought under-age women alcoholic drinks.

Speaking through tears, Nelson said she was alarmed when Moore immediately drove to the back of the restaurant and parked his auto in a dark and deserted area.

Gibson's "allegation" is that she and Moore kissed twice.

"Mitch McConnell, the way he's been - this clearly felt nearly orchestrated", Todd said.

On the Democratic side, one of the Senate's moderate members is helping Moore's challenger raise campaign funds, underscoring the party's wary approach in an Alabama race that until recently was viewed as a virtually certain win for the GOP.

Scientists: Sheep recognize faces as people
A sheep "model" of Huntington's disease has been bred, displaying similar brain and social changes as witnessed in human patients. They did this by rewarding the sheep food when they went to the picture of one of celebrities, and not an unfamiliar face.

McConnell previously said Moore should end his candidacy if the allegations were proven true. But Moore could well ignore it since he has routinely ridiculed McConnell's performance as the Senate Republican leader and rebuffed calls from other prominent Republicans to drop out of the race. "We'll see" if Republicans will throw their support behind unusual, he told reporters.

Alabama will hold a special election on December 12 to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. And any effort to add unusual as a write-in candidate would threaten to divide the GOP vote in a way that would give the Democratic candidate a greater chance of winning.

"I think there's a special place in hell for those who actually perpetrate these crimes", White House legislative aide Marc Short said Sunday.

Moore tried to raise money from the controversy, writing in a fundraising pitch sent about midafternoon that the "vicious and sleazy attacks against me are growing more vicious by the minute".

Moore is an outspoken Christian conservative and former state Supreme Court judge. Other Democratic Party politicians pictured with Gibson include former Vice President Joe Biden, a former Florida senator, and Senator Bill Nelson of Florida. "It was a Scott Walker, a Scott P. Walker, I'm Scott Kevin Walker", Walker said. Losing the special election to a Democrat would imperil Republicans' already slim 52-48 majority.

But Moore has remained defiant. But a Moore victory also would pose risks if he were to join the Senate GOP under a cloud of sexual misconduct allegations.
