Alita: Battle Angel Trailer

09 December 2017

Visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY) create a groundbreaking new heroine in ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an action-packed story of hope, love and empowerment.

Set several centuries in the future, Alita (Rosa Salazar) is a cyborg found abandoned in the scrapyard of Iron City by Dr Dyson Ido (Christoph Waltz). When he chose to concentrate on the world of Avatar, he gave up in directing Alita himself and passed the reins to Robert Rodriguez.

Yeah, it looks weird, but credit to Robert Rodriguez for taking something as commonly explored as film and presenting it with a vision that's entirely his. That failed to find favor with critics or audiences and was considered one of the year's early bombs. But now try to imagine what that would feel like if you were also a cyborg living in a corrupt world where other cyborgs are hunting you down for reasons you don't understand, and you have the premise for the incredible-looking new sci-fi movie Alita: Battle Angel. She woke with no memory of her past life and no idea who she is.

First flu-related death of the season hits Edmonton
By getting a shot of inactive flu strains , the body builds an immunity towards the strain which helps fight off the sickness. In Quebec a year ago the vaccine was only 37 percent effective against the strain of H3N2 that was infecting people.

What do you think about the trailer?

There's a new graphic novel adaptation on the horizon, and it's name is "Alita: Battle Angel". With no memory of her previous life except her deadly martial-arts training, the woman becomes a bounty hunter, tracking down criminals. It's there, staring the viewer in the face as they watch the trailer play out. After a few viewings of the trailer, I might be warming up to her eyes a bit but trying to get over the "uncanny valley"-ness of her look is not an easy task". It is then that Alita discovers she has extraordinary fighting abilities. Additional scenes show Chiren (Jennifer Connely) and Vector (Masherala Ali) too.
