Arsenal, Coquelin agree Valencia terms: announcement imminent

11 January 2018

According to Sky sources With Moyes longing to sign a central midfielder, Elneny is in his shortlist along with Joe Allen, Steven N'Zonzi, William Carvalho, Jonjo Shelvey and his Arsenal teammate Francis Coquelin.

This season he found himself behind Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere in Wenger's thoughts, starting just one Prem match.

It was on Monday that we reported that Coquelin could leave the club in January with West Ham United cited as the likely destination. In the race to sign Coquelin, Valencia are not alone.

Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been linked although Wenger insisted on Tuesday that he has received no contact from the latter.

NFL, NFLPA to review how Panthers handled hit on QB Newton
Newton exited Carolina's wild-card loss to the New Orleans Saints after taking a hit to the head in the fourth quarter. This isn't the first time the Panthers have been investigated for how it has handled the protocol.

"It is a possibility, but nothing is decided."
"It would not be for West Ham", Wenger said in his press conference ahead of the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Elneny's key strength - passing - is presently missing in West Ham's midfield, and he could be the much-needed link between defence and attack.

He said: "I would sign him and I want him here permanently, but that's not my job". However, a move to Valencia seems imminent with reports claiming a four and a half year deal for Coquelin valued close to £10.5 million.

Coquelin has only played 844 minutes in the Premier League this season.
