Pep Guardiola will go with Bernardo Silva and Brahim Díaz until Sané comes back, which is a risk but is not the worst alternative in the world.

However, Guardiola would not be drawn into discussions over potential transfer targets, saying: "I have interest in a lot of players and good players - there are many".

Despite hours of talks throughout Tuesday and Wednesday the two clubs have been unable to find common ground, and City have ended their interest.

"Right now, we have just three strikers with Raheem [Sterling], for the next month or month and a half".

Assange asks court to drop arrest warrant
Julian Assange will learn next month if the warrant for his arrest will be dropped, after his five-year standoff with police. They argue that Assange shouldn't be immune from the law simply because he has managed to evade justice for years.

City insist the move for Mahrez was not a reaction to the ankle injury sustained to Leroy Sane, who has been ruled out for up to seven weeks with ligament damage.

Nevertheless, the biggest obstacle to his move will be Leicester and how much they're willing to hold out for. The move will most probably be made official today as the Foxes would not want to upset their players.

Riyad Mahrez was reportedly not in the Leicester City squad for a training session this morning ahead of tonight's Premier League game against Everton. The winger was keen on leaving in the summer of 2016 and then tried to leave before this season began as well.

And now, a friend of the winger has spoken to Sky Sports regarding the situation, giving an insight as to how Mahrez feels at Leicester's decision.
