The New York Mets game against the Nationals Thursday started off with a bang. After just five pitches in the first inning, New York Mets’ John Maine left the game. This is just another hit to the Mets’ roster.
Maine was replaced on the mound by Raul Valdes after Ray Ramirez, the team’s trainer, Jerry Manuel, the team’s manager, as well as Dan Warthen, the team’s pitching coach, stepped out on the mound with Maine after he walked Nyjer Morgan of the Nationals in order to speak with Maine and to quickly examine him. A few minutes later, Maine was walking off the mound to end his night with Valdes taking step on the mound to pitch to Nationals’ Adam Kennedy. Continue Reading…
The New York Yankees made several changes to their roster lineup tonight before the game against Tampa Bay. They have injuries occurring right and left.
The Yankees have promoted Chad Moeller, a veteran catcher, from AAA Scranton Wilkes Barre and placed Jorge Posada, catcher, to the 15-day disabled list. Posada was placed on the DL due to breaking a bone within his right foot. He has X-Rays done that didn’t show any damage, but when he underwent the scheduled MRI on Wednesday, the damage was there. The All-Star catcher is expected to miss about three to four weeks. Continue Reading…

The Los Angeles Dodgers may be playing the San Diego Padres tonight to attempt to win their 10th consecutive game, but Manny Ramirez won’t find his name on the lineup for the game after an injury to his left foot during warm-up practices prior to the game.
Ramirez just came off the disabled list earlier this month, May 8, after being on it from April 23. He was placed on the disabled list last month due to a strained calf muscle. This injury that left fielder Ramirez has suffered tonight appears to not be related to the strained calf muscle from last month. Continue Reading…
Wednesday began the Seattle Mariners opener for the series against the Toronto Blue Jays but before the game commenced, the Mariners activated Milton Bradley from the restricted list for the MLB. On the lineup, outfielder Bradley was expected to bat in sixth position and find himself in left field.
32-year-old Milton Bradley has been away from the team for a couple weeks now seeking professional help with some personal issues. He has not been out on the field playing since the beginning of May when he voluntarily left the game claiming that he seriously needed some help with some personal emotional stress. Coming into the Western Conference Finals, both the Phoenix Suns and the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers were riding high after being tested in the first round and pulling off a sweep in the second round. Despite both teams coming into their own in the second round of the playoffs, the Lakers have been able to really change public opinion by looking more and more like the team that won the NBA title last season. The New England Patriots are now releasing CB Shawn Springs. He has found himself to have limited play over the course of the last year despite the fact just signing a $10.5 million agreement for three years before last season.
Springs was initially acquired by the Patriots to add some depth to their defensive line; however, he couldn’t show that he was able to do what it took to get things done in addition to an injury that he incurred. The Patriots have no need for Springs any longer as cornerback. He only participated in a total of 12 games last year, out of which eight were starts, with 39 tackles and a single interception. This isn’t the only reason he isn’t needed by the Patriots though. Continue Reading…
There are only four teams left in the NBA playoffs and for the most part, the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and the Orlando Magic are no real surprise to have gotten this far as they are all playing at an extremely high level.
Even though many people anticipated the Dallas Mavericks playing in the Phoenix Suns place in the Western Conference finals or the Cleveland Cavaliers getting past the Boston Celtics to reach the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season, that just hasn’t been the case and for good reason. It has been confirmed by the New York Yankees that Nick Johnson will probably undergo wrist surgery on Tuesday. It is official that he will have the surgery performed, but there has been no real official statement as to the exact date, but it is likely schedule to happen Tuesday.
