There was no other team in the NBA heading into the playoffs that was thought to have a better chance of winning an NBA title at season’s end than the Cleveland Cavaliers. The defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers were thought to have a legitimate shot at repeating, but the Cavs just looked better in every which way and had a lot of momentum moving forward.

Last season the Cleveland Cavaliers were thought to be the best team in the league heading into the postseason and were favored to win it all, but once they reached the Eastern Conference finals, they really underestimated the Orlando Magic and were dominated by Dwight Howard and company. Last season the Denver Nuggets were breakout team in the Western Conference after they made arguably the biggest trade in the franchise’s history by sending Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Denver hometown boy and one-time NBA champion Chauncey Billups.

Even though this trade was criticized by many Denver Nuggets fans early on, everyone knew this was the right move for the Nuggets as Chauncey Billups would bring a much-needed leadership to the point guard position. Continue Reading…

New York Jets Explore the Possibility of Trading Shaun Ellis
Added May 14th, 2010 by Stacy

Looking at the New York Jets roster, you will see that defensive end and two time Pro-Bowler Shaun Ellis is the veteran lineman with the longest permanent status on the team.

The Jets apparently allowed trade offers to come in for Shaun Ellis over the past several months but haven’t found anyone that is willing to take the trade, according to a source close to the situation.  This source also claimed that Ellis was deprived of an extension with the Jets.  His current contract has him making $3.35 million in his last season with the Jets, which is the 2010 season. Vickers has been hospitalized with blood clots around his lungs as well as in his legs.  He complained of discomfort in his chest earlier this week and was sent to the hospital by Red Bull Racing Manager Jay Frye.  Continue Reading…

The San Antonio Spurs have been arguably one of the most dominant teams in the Western Conference and the entire NBA for that matter for quite some time and their four NBA titles to prove just that, but any team with a lot of miles on them will start to break down at one time or another and that might be exactly what’s happened to Gregg Popovich’s dominant squad.

Despite being the seventh seed in the West heading into the NBA playoffs, the San Antonio Spurs played more like the second seed as they were able to knock out their Southwest division rivals in the Dallas Mavericks in the first round with relative ease. Continue Reading…

As previously reported, Tiger Woods withdrew his participation in the last round from the Players Championship event on Sunday due to having pain in his neck.  He had been coping with the pain for a while before the Players Championship but was unable to cope any longer.  He originally believed that the pain that he was having in his neck was from a bulging disk.

Woods had a MRI scheduled, which thankfully showed that he had inflammation in a facet joint in his neck.  This is what was causing him such pain.  As for recovery, Woods will have to participate in physical therapy on a regular basis.  Continue Reading…
