Arguably one of the best teams in the NFL over the past decade or so has been Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots. With three Super Bowl titles and one of the best quarterbacks of all-time behind center in Tom Brady, the Patriots have just dominated the AFC East division and the AFC Conference for that matter, but they have struggled as of late as teams around the league have gotten younger and better over time. The Washington Redskins have finally inked their first-round 2010 NFL Draft pick to a contract.  Trent Williams, the 4th overall NFL draft pick this year and one of the highest tackle prospects in the draft, will be signing his contract Friday morning before reporting to practice at the team’s training camp.  The deal was only complete a short couple of hours prior to the commencement of training camp Friday morning.

The contract is for six years and is worth $60 million.  The six-year deal reportedly has just under $37 million guaranteed will put an end to the holdout of Williams.  Williams, out of Oklahoma State as offensive tackle, did not attend training camp practice on Thursday and was considered a holdout.  Continue Reading…

Would you turn down your opportunity to play with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James if you had the chance?  Probably not.  Neither would Eddie House – one of the best free agent shooters still left on the free agent market…or at least he was.

Thursday, House’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, released a statement that House has agreed to rejoin the Miami Heat.  The contract will be for two years, with the second year of the contract being a player option, and worth almost $3 million, which isn’t as rewarding as other offers he had received but the other offers also couldn’t match one of the NBA’s best trio – Bosh, Wade, and James. The one team in the NFL that has made more drastic moves than any other team in the league this offseason is the Washington Redskins. Not only were they able to hire one of the best NFL head coaches of all-time in Mike Shanahan, but they were also able to make a deal for six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb which without a doubt is huge improvement for this struggling offense. The Redskins are predicted by many sports betting sites to finish last in the NFC East. Continue Reading…

The Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics go head-to-head today in Arlington but the Rangers will be without second baseman Ian Kinsler who landed on the 15-day disabled list with a left groin strain on Thursday.  The move is retroactive to Wednesday and came just a day after Kinsler sat out Wednesday’s game against the A’s, which the Rangers lost 3-1.

Kinsler is batting a .298 average with 6 homeruns and 38 runs batted in.  He started off the season on the disabled list due to a high ankle sprain, which resulted in Kinsler missing out on the first 22 regular season games this year.  As for Kinsler’s current injury, it hasn’t proven to be series; however, the Rangers want him in proper shape and be ready and able to give 100% for the postseason.   Continue Reading…

It wasn’t until late Wednesday night, the eve of the Raiders training camp, that Oakland was able to reach a deal with their first-round 2010 NFL Draft pick Rolando McClain.

As of now, the linebacker out of Alabama, is the highest signed draft selection being chosen as number 8 overall.  Last week, number 24 draft pick Dez Bryant signed with the Dallas Cowboys and just Wednesday morning, number 25 draft pick Devin McCourty signed with the New England Patriots.

The Oakland Raiders training camp begins Thursday, July 29, but it wasn’t known whether or not the newly signed linebacker would be able to make it to training camp to join the team on Thursday. Continue Reading…

Back in 2008, the best of the best in NBA formed what was dubbed as the Redeem Team in order to get Team USA or the US national basketball team back on top as the world’s best in the sport of basketball.

With the addition of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and arguably the best center in the league in Dwight Howard, Team USA was stacked and for the first time since 1992’s Dream Team was representing the US with its best players. Continue Reading…

The New England Patriots and their first round NFL Draft pick Devin McCourty have come to terms on a five-year deal that is worth a maximum of $13.2 million.  Bonuses and guarantees come to a sum of nearly $8 million.

McCourty, who will play as the Patriots cornerback and played college ball at Rutgers, was the 27th overall draft pick in this year’s 2010 NFL draft.  The New England Patriots had a total of 12 draftees to sign and McCourty was the last one that had not signed a contract with the team.  It also makes the New England Patriots one of the four teams that have signed all of their draft picks with the other three teams being Dallas, Chicago, and Carolina.  The Patriots begin their initial training camp practice this Thursday and it is likely that McCourty will be there with the rest of the team.
