Last season the Green Bay Packers had one of the most potent offenses in the league led by Pro Bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers and a dominant defense led by the Defensive Player of the Year in cornerback Charles Woodson, but even though they had an offense that could lit up the scoreboard and a defense that could shutdown opposing teams, they weren’t able to get past the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs.
This year the Packers have seemed to gotten even better in the offseason as they have improved their offensive line and have Aaron Rodgers ready to lead this team to a Super Bowl title. Get in early on the Packers winning it all this year at the best online sportsbooks. Continue Reading…
The St. Louis Rams will head in this NFL regular season with high hopes of finally being able to turn this struggling franchise around after drafting former Heisman trophy winner Sam Bradford to lead their offense.
Obviously, they are not going to be able to instantly turn things around as teams with a rookie quarterbacks are bound to struggle early on, but there is light at the end of tunnel for this once dominant NFC Conference team. Continue Reading…
The Boston Red Sox have had a pretty good season so far and are currently third in the standings for the American League East. However, injuries are not becoming for a team that has done well thus far this year and may actually have a chance at the number one position in the 2010 AL East Standings. You’d think as many key players that have already suffered major injuries this year, some keeping them out the rest of the season, that there couldn’t possibly be any more… Continue Reading…
Sources report that the San Francisco 49ers and Aubrayo Franklin have come to terms on a contract and will fly out to take his physical and sign his tender, which will end a lengthy holdout. The tender is said to be worth just over $7 million for Franklin, who has not yet made his appearance at training camp.
Initially, both Franklin and the 49ers had hoped they could work out an agreement for a long-term contract; however, it appears that they were unable to decide on terms at this time that made both parties happy enough to settle on a long-term contract. Instead, Franklin will only have a one-year contract extension for now. Continue Reading…
The Arizona Cardinals are the verge of a new era as they will no longer have future Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner under center after he announced his retirement during the NFL offseason.
As usual, the transition from one dominant quarterback to his backup can be rough to say the least as Matt Leinart in this case will have some pretty big shoes to fill in order for the team to become successful once again. Continue Reading…
The Chicago Bears are coming off a very disappointing season in which they were ravaged by injuries and breaking in a new starting quarterback in the form of Pro Bowler Jay Cutler.
Even though it seemed that the team was heading in the right direction with the acquisition of a franchise quarterback and the defense getting back to form, the team just fell apart last season and weren’t able to get anything going until near the end of the regular season where they finally struck up some team chemistry. The Washington Redskins have made some drastic improvements during the NFL offseason as they were able to bring in a franchise quarterback in six-time Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb and major upgrade at head coach in two-time Super Bowl champion Mike Shanahan.
Even though the Redskins will have their work cut out for them this season, especially within the NFC East division (Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles), the team should be much better moving forward with the possibility of having a potent offense with Donovan McNabb under center. It looks like the Washington Redskins will be without QB Donovan McNabb for their next pre-season game this Friday against the New York Jets as he is having issues with his ankle, which apparently began during Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, in which Baltimore claimed a victory.
At practice on Monday, McNabb, who was traded from Philadelphia to Washington in April, was wearing a protective boot and he was limited to participation in the practice. Then on Tuesday, McNabb was not wearing the protective boot and although he was still unable to participate in practice, he did walk on a treadmill. Continue Reading…
Last season the Cincinnati Bengals were amongst the best teams in the league on both sides of the football they were finally able to get things going with a healthy Carson Palmer, a dominant running game with Cedric Benson and a surprisingly good defense. The online sportsbooks really seemed to like them last season.
As a result, the Cincinnati Bengals dominated the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the regular season and won the AFC North division for the first time since 2005. Continue Reading…
This past Sunday the United States national basketball team or Team USA as it is better known, were given a run for their money when they went up against Ricky Rubio’s Spanish squad.
Even though the Americans came out on top 86-85, after Kevin Durant saved the day with a blocked shot at the buzzer, it would be safe to say that Spain basically outplayed them throughout the entire game as some of Team USA’s players really struggled, especially late in the game when Spain was threatening to come away with the win.
