Last night, the Texas Rangers handed it to the New York Yankees in the ALCS Game 4 ending with a final score of 10-3 in the Rangers favor.  This afternoon, the Rangers will look to complete Game 5 with a victory and have their ticket to the 2010 MLB World Series as they currently lead the series 3-1.

The Rangers will hand their fate over into the hands of starting pitcher C.J. Wilson, who pitched Game 1 of the 2010 ALCS.  Wilson is currently 1-0 in his two playoff starts with an ERA of 2.03.  In the 2010 ALDS Game 2 against the Tampa Bay Rays, he pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings.  Only two hits and two walks were allowed.  In the ALCS Game 1 against the Yankees, he allowed just three runs in a little over seven innings.  Tonight, he’ll look to pitch the game that he didn’t pitch then. 2010 ALCS Game 4 – Texas Rangers @ New York Yankees October 19, 2010 8:07 p.m. ET
Added October 19th, 2010 by Stacy

The Texas Rangers lead the ALCS 2-1 over the New York Yankees.  They really need this third win tonight and if they can secure it, they’ll only need one more to win the ALCS.  The Rangers are going into the game with the exact lineup as they had in Game 3.

The Rangers will send Tommy Hunter to the mound for Game 4 – his last Game 4 in the ALDS was a 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in which he allowed three runs in four frames; therefore, leaving him in the postseason as 0-1 with an ERA of 4.50.  In September, he made a single start against New York allowing two runs over five innings.   Continue Reading…

2010 NLCS Game 3 – Philadelphia Phillies @ San Francisco Giants October 19, 2010 4:19 p.m. ET
Added October 19th, 2010 by Stacy

If you are at work today and can’t get off by 4:00 p.m. ET or can’t get in front of a TV by that time then I’ve got bad news for you – you may very well miss the beginning of the 2010 NLCS Game 3 between the San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Heading into Game 3 Tuesday afternoon, the Phillies and the Giants are tied in the Championship Series.  In the first game the Giants took the Phillies in a victory of 5-4 but Game 2 on Sunday fell in the Phillies’ favor coming out in a victory of 6-1. Continue Reading…

Illegal hits shouldn’t be taken lightly whether it’s in the NFL or the NHL.  The NHL took action today by suspending forward Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes for a total of three games due to an illegal, blindside hit to the Anaheim Ducks’ Dan Sexton’s head.  Along with this three-game suspension that Doan was handed by the NHL, he is also going to lose a chunk of his salary – more than $73,000.

The hit initially came in Sunday night’s game, in which the Phoenix Coyotes lost 3-2.  Referees can call these illegal hits during the game and issue in-game penalties, but many do not.  This was the case for this hit – Doan wasn’t penalized during the game but instead after the game. ACLS Game 3 – Texas Rangers @ New York Yankees October 18, 2010 8:07 p.m. ET
Added October 18th, 2010 by Stacy

Game 3 of the 2010 ACLS gets under way tonight in New York at Yankee Stadium at 8:07 p.m. ET.  The Yankees will look to gain their second victory after being defeated during Game 2 on Saturday night.  The Rangers, on the other hand, will look for their second straight victory after winning Game 2.  The teams are currently tied for the postseason best of seven and they both have their best pitchers on the mound.

The Rangers will look to their ace pitcher, Cliff Lee.  For his two American League Division starts, he was 2-0 with an earned run average of 1.13.  In seven starts in the postseason, the 32-year-old left-handed ace is now 6-0 with an earned run average of 1.44.  Continue Reading…

Detroit Lions Lose QB Shaun Hill to Left Forearm Fracture, Zack Follett to Head Collision
Added October 17th, 2010 by Stacy

The Detroit Lions went into today’s game with the New York Giants 1-4 with the Lions’ original starting quarterback Matthew Stafford dressed as the team’s No. 3 quarterback, who hasn’t played since the first half of Game 1 when he sprained his right shoulder.  That season opener ended in a loss for the Lions.

Next week is the bye week for the Lions and I don’t think Shaun Hill could be any happier about that.  Hill was injured in the first half of the game today, just prior to halftime.  He suffered a hit by Barry Cofield, a defensive tackle for the Giants, on an incomplete.  His left arm was hurt and he immediately ran to the locker room for an evaluation of his injured after the Lions called a timeout. 2010 NLCS Game 2 – San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies October 17, 2010 8:19 p.m. ET
Added October 17th, 2010 by Stacy

After starting off well in the 2010 National League Championship Series, the San Francisco Giants will look to make a sweep of the first two games at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.  In Saturday night’s Game 1 of the NLCS, the Giants defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3.  If the Giants can secure a second win tonight, they will head back to their home ground for Game 3 of the NLCS on Tuesday.

Tonight, the Giants will send starting left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez to the mound.  Through the regular season, Sanchez was 13-9 with an earned run average of 4.26. Sanchez is 0-0 in the postseason with an earned run average of 1.23. Continue Reading…

NFL Week 6: Detroit Lions vs New York Giants Sportsbook odds and predictions
Added October 17th, 2010 by Ryan

Detroit Lions vs New York Giants Sun. Oct. 17th 1pm EST

The Detroit Lions and the New York Giants are two teams in the NFC Conference that have exceeded expectations this season in my opinion as the Lions offense is much improved with rookie running back Jahvid Best being the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year and the Giants defense has come alive once again striking fear in the hearts of opposing quarterbacks.

Obviously, the Detroit Lions would like to have a better record at this point in the season as they have only been able to get one win on the year, but they way they have played without their franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford (shoulder) has been impressive to say the least. NFL Week 6: Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers Sportsbook odds and predictions
Added October 17th, 2010 by James

Miami Dolphins vs Green Bay Packers Sun. Oct. 17th 1pm EST

The Green Bay Packers headed into this NFL regular season with high hopes of winning the NFC North division and paving their way to the Super Bowl, but after the first five weeks of the season, Aaron Rodgers and company have begun to realize that it will be much tougher than they thought to raise the Vince Lombardi trophy come February.

Heading into Week 6’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers will be pretty banged up as perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still recovering from a concussion he suffered in the loss to the Washington Redskins last week and tight end Jermichael Finley likely out for the season due to a knee injury. Seattle Seahawks vs Chicago Bears Sun. Oct. 17th 1pm EST

This season the Seattle Seahawks came into the year with high hopes of turning around their trouble NFL franchise with the addition of former USC head coach Pete Carroll and even though they got off to a quick start by convincingly beating the favorites to win the NFC West division in the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 (31-6), they have struggled to play consistently well in the first five weeks of the season.

Heading into Week 6, the Seahawks will be sporting a 2-2 record as they head to Solider Field to take on Jay Culter and the rejuvenated Chicago Bears. Continue Reading…
