Dallas Cowboys @ Indianapolis Colts Sun. Dec. 5th 2010 4:15pm EST

The Indianapolis Colts came into this NFL regular season as the odds on favorites to win the Super Bowl and no one could argue with that fact as they could have easily won it all last season if it weren’t for the surprise onside kick to start the second half in the big game against the even Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, but even though they were thought to dominate the AFC Conference once again this season, they haven’t lived up to expectations thus far as they will come into Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys with a disappointing 6-5 record. New York Jets @ New England Patriots Mon. Dec. 6th 2010 8:20pm EST

Arguably one of the most competitive races for a division title this season is without a doubt the New England Patriots and the New York Jets battling it out for the top spot in the AFC East. Even though there are still five weeks left in the NFL regular season, the Patriots and the Jets are neck and neck right now with equal records (9-2) coming into this AFC East division showdown.

Not only is this game extremely important for both of these teams as it will almost certainly determine who wins the AFC East division title, but it will also be played on the biggest stage on Monday Night Football. Continue Reading…

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens Sun. Dec. 5th 8:20pm EST

The AFC North division is without a doubt one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL today, but this season it has become a two team race for the division title as the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens are the only teams in contention to come out on top.

Coming into Week 13, the Ravens and the Steelers are dead even at 8-3, but only one team can come out with the win and as a result the top spot in the AFC North. This is an interesting matchup for NFL football betting as both Ds are capable of shutting down the other team. Continue Reading…

When Bengie Molina began saying that he was probably going to retire after the 2010 MLB season but definitely going on the free agent market, the Texas Rangers had to step up their game to fill that void.  They wasted no time into the offseason by signing a new catcher to take Molina’s spot – Yorvit Torrealba.

The Rangers inked 32-year-old Torrealba to a two-year contract worth a total of $6.25 million on Monday to be the team’s starting catcher.  In 2011, the catcher will receive $3 million and then $3.25 million in 2012.

Torrealba was with the San Diego Padres last season and the four seasons prior to that with the Colorado Rockies.  He helped the Rockies make their way to the World Series in 2007 and the playoffs in 2009.  Prior to the Rockies, he was with the San Francisco Giants from 2001 to 2005 with a small stint with the Seattle Mariners in 2005.

The Rangers are happy with their decision as they feel like have found a starting catcher that is worthy and will be able to add quality to the team as a whole.  He is definitely good at-bat and has great defensive qualities.  His problem lies in his throwing – it’s not the greatest.  He has had several problems with his shoulders in the past, leading up to the reason why he doesn’t have exceptional throwing skills today.

However, the Rangers also aren’t looking for a “traditional” starting catcher who is going to play so many games – they are simply looking for a catcher that can play the majority of the games throughout the season.

While they’ve filled part of their catching needs, they still need a hell of a back up – will Matt Treanor be a possibility?  He was with the Rangers this year and the Rangers plan to keep in contact with him so I’m guessing that he is going to be a large possibility.

Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins Sun. Nov. 28th 2010 1pm EST

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings thought they might be able to turn their season around last week with a win over the division rival Green Bay Packers, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case as Aaron Rodgers and company just dominated their division rivals with a 31-3 blowout.

Once the final whistle blew in Week 11, the fate of head coach Brad Childress was sealed as the controversial and universally disliked coach was fired. Even though the Vikings said they weren’t going to make a decision about their head coach until the end of the season, they had to make a move as the loss to the Packers was devastating to say the least. Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons Sun. Nov. 28th 2010 1pm EST

The Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons were thought to be playoff bound teams in the NFC Conference this season, but no one expected them to be playing as well as they have been coming into Week 12 as both of these NFC Conference heavyweights are legitimate Super Bowl title contenders and could win their division titles.

One thing that is really intriguing about this matchup is two Pro Bowl caliber quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan going head to head. Not only are both these quarterbacks playing exceptionally well right now, but they have seemed to take their teams to the next level this season and whoever comes out on top might be the leader of arguably the best team in the NFC Conference if not the entire NFL for that matter. We like the odds at Bodog for this NFL football betting matchup. Continue Reading…

Miami Dolphins @ Oakland Raiders Sun. Nov. 28th 2010 4:05pm EST

The Oakland Raiders have been arguably the biggest surprise team in the NFL this season as they have seemingly defied the odds and proven their doubters wrong by winning five games already this year, but did get a bit of a wakeup call in Week 11 after the defensive minded Pittsburgh Steelers destroyed this up and coming team in blowout fashion with a 35-3 victory.

Obviously, not many people expected the Raiders to come out on top against the best run defense in the league, but they were thought to put up a bit more of a fight and score much more than just three points against the Steelers. Continue Reading…

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans Sun. Nov. 28th 2010 1pm EST

The Tennessee Titans are one of those teams in the NFL this season that when they play up to their potential there is tough to beat as any team in the league, but with problems between starting quarterback Vince Young and head coach Jeff Fisher along with the fact that the acquisition of wide receiver Randy Moss seems to be a bust, the Titans could be headed in a downward spiral.

It’s no secret that there is a feud going on between Fisher and Young right now, but with the former Heisman trophy winner being out for the season due to a thumb injury that will have to wait until the offseason to get resolved and the Tennessee Titans will turn to rookie quarterback Rusty Smith to take over under center and face the Houston Texans in Week 12. Even with the Busy Thanksgiving holiday, there’s always time for some good NFL football betting. Continue Reading…

San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts Mon. Nov. 29th 2010 8:30pm EST

The Indianapolis Colts came into this NFL regular season as the clear favorites to win the Super Bowl and not many people argued the fact that they would do so, but coming into Week 12 the consensus around the league has changed as the Colts are banged up and no longer look like the team that dominated the AFC Conference last season.

Fortunately, the Colts still have a chance to turn things around this season and this week they will have the perfect opportunity to do just that as they will be defending their home field at Lucas Oil Stadium against the red-hot San Diego Chargers who have won three straight. Continue Reading…

New Orleans Saints @ Dallas Cowboys Thurs. Nov. 25th 2010 4:15pm EST

The Dallas Cowboys were considered to be arguably one of the best teams in the NFC Conference if not the entire NFL before this NFL regular season began, but despite having one most potent offenses in the league with a perennial Pro bowl quarterback Tony Romo leading the way, America’s Team were never able to really live up to expectations early on and have only just started to show some signs of life.

After Week 9’s devastating loss to the Green Bay Packers (45-7), which was the team’s fifth straight loss, it became obvious that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had to do something and as a result he fired head coach Wade Phillips. If you want to get in on some great NFL sports betting, look at Bodog odds below as they are the leader in Sportsbooks.

Even though Jerry Jones was adamant about not firing his head coach at least until the end of the season, pressure just became too much after the loss to the Packers and he had to make a move which has ultimately completely turn around the franchise with newly promoted Jason Garrett at the helm.
