Are the New Orleans Saints legitimate Super Bowl title contenders?

After Week 1 of this NFL regular season, the New Orleans Saints were 0-1 as a result of a loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers in the season opener. Despite losing this game to Aaron Rodgers and company, Sean Payton’s squad was impressive to say the least as the outcome could have easily gone in the other direction with the Saints winning their first game of the season and being dubbed the best team in the league. As the most promising young team in the league to start the season, the Detroit Lions haven’t disappointed with five wins in the first seven games of the year. Despite going 5-0 to start the season, the Lions have dropped their last two games to the San Francisco 49ers (25-19) and the Atlanta Falcons (23-16) and are in desperate need of a win to get back on track. The road to an undefeated season is looking more and more like the path the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers are taking as they have won seven straight games and look like they could continue this hot streak for nine more games.
