Tostitos BCS National Championship Game: #1 Auburn (13-0) vs. #2 Oregon (12-0) Mon. Jan. 10th 8:30pm EST
The wait is finally over as arguably the two best teams in college football are set to go head to head this Monday night in Glendale, Arizona.
Not only are the Auburn Tigers (1) and the Oregon Ducks (2) arguably the two best college football teams in the country, but they also have some of the most talented players on the offensive side of the football.
Usually, when two teams like the Tigers and the Ducks have such dynamic offenses with big names a skill positions, the defense goes unnoticed, but these two teams are pretty solid on the defensive side of the football as well and that just might be key to victory for one of these storied programs.
Despite all the hoopla surrounding what everyone believes will be a BCS National Championship filled with touchdowns and unstoppable offenses, the one player and story line to keep your eye on this Monday night is Heisman trophy winning quarterback Cam Newton.
As if winning the Heisman trophy and being without a doubt the best player in college football isn’t enough pressure to live up to, the young and extremely versatile quarterback will have all eyes on him this weekend as he will try and lead his team to victory over a very good Oregon Ducks squad.
Along with the BCS Championship trophy being on the line this Monday, an undefeated record will also be up for grabs as both teams will come into college football’s biggest game with flawless records.
Even though I believe this game will be a barn burner and extremely entertaining from start to finish, the Auburn Tigers should come out on top in this one with yet another incredible performance that will leave his mark on college football before heading to the NFL.
As of right now, the Tigers have been given the -2 point edge here and that is a pretty solid spread in my opinion!
