The NCAA Tournament has become incredibly popular over the years due to the fact that anything can happen and with any team in the NCAA Tournament having a legitimate shot at winning the tournament. Even though most people find it extremely difficult to predict upsets in the NCAA Tournament that is exactly why it is called March Madness. Despite no one really giving this team any chance of competing with the best of the best in the tournament, the Bulldogs stayed strong and made it all the way to the National Championship to take on the Duke Blue Devils.

Coach K’s squad ultimately came out on top in the tournament and won yet another NCAA title, but the Bulldogs took the game down to the wire and almost sealed the deal with a last second shot from half court. Unfortunately, the shot came up just short, but it did prove that any team can compete in the NCAA Tournament.

This season the Butler Bulldogs have done it again as they have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the 2011 NCAA Tournament with a win over the Pittsburgh Panthers in the third round. Even though the Panthers were considered to be one of the best all-around teams in this tournament and were given a number one seed, but they weren’t able to get the best of the eighth seed in the Butler Bulldogs.

Now the Butler Bulldogs will head-to-head the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season and will face off against the Wisconsin Badgers.
