There has been a lot of speculation about what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles as they had three Pro Bowl caliber quarterbacks on their squad. Not only are these three quarterbacks amongst the best in the league, but they had very high trade value coming into the NFL offseason after the Eagles lost to their arch rivals in the Dallas Cowboys.

With that being said the Eagle  were thought to make a deal this offseason, but the question of which one of these quarterbacks would be leaving town still remained a mystery.

Michael Vick was the rehabilitating former superstar quarterback last season for the Eagles who only got into games on special plays or in the Wildcat formation. Despite not getting much playing time behind center, Vick did make an impression and has caught the eye of many teams around the league that are looking to make a change at quarterback.

Kevin Kolb also played limited minutes last season, but did get to start a few games when Donovan McNabb went down with a rib injury early in the year. Kolb took advantage of his time behind center and proved to everyone that he could very well be a starter in this league and produce some big numbers.

Donovan McNabb is a six-time Pro Bowl and has led this league to multiple NFC championships and a Super Bowl appearance in his time in Philly, but he isn’t getting any younger which might have been the reason with the Philadelphia Eagles decided to trade him to the Washington Redskins this past Sunday.

Even though a lot of people were expecting Donovan McNabb to be traded at some point in this offseason, trading him within the division seemed very uncharacteristic and unwise.

Now the Washington Redskins have a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback, running back and future hall of fame head coach in Mike Shanahan. With the offseason basically just underway and the NFL Draft coming up the Redskins could make even more considerable improvements and give the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys a run for their money next season.

McNabb was traded in exchange for draft picks.
