NFC Championship Game: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears Sun. Jan. 23rd 2011 3pm EST
The NFC North division is about as competitive as it gets in the NFL today as two to three teams within the division are more than capable of winning the division title and possibly contending for Super Bowl title.
This season was a perfect example of that as both the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears have been able to defy the odds and make it all the way to the NFC Championship game. Not only is it fitting that these two teams within the same division were able to make it all the way to the NFC Championship game, but both teams made it their goal this season to be one another in order to judge the success of the year.
Ironically enough, both the Packers and Bears have split the season series between each other and will come into this matchup with the 1-1 record when going head-to-head this year.
Fortunately for the Chicago Bears, this game will be played at Soldier Field in the Windy City as the Bears are the higher seed and were able to clinch home-field advantage. Usually this would be devastating news for anybody facing the Chicago Bears, but the Green Bay Packers are favored with a -3.5 point spread to come out on top against their arch rivals.
Even though these two teams have played each other more than any other two franchises in the NFL today, they have only met in the playoffs will once before this which will make this game is stored to say the least and extremely entertaining if it lives up to their bitter rivalry.
In my opinion, the Green Bay Packers of the better all around team when compared to the Chicago Bears and should come out on top in this one. The Bears may have a lockdown defense that is amongst the best in the league this season, but Clay Matthews and company are just as good if not better on the defensive side of the football.
The X-factor in this game though will be perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers as he will look to shred that lockdown defense to pieces.
This is going to be a great weekend for NFL football betting from these online sportsbooks.
