NFC Wildcard: Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Jan. 9th 2011 4:30pm EST
Throughout the entire NFL regular season, the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles have gone through some highs and lows, but despite dealing with injury problems, they have been able to make it into the playoffs once again.
Despite the Eagles being the only team to win their division title (NFC East) of these two teams this season, the Packers will have a great chance to pull off the upset in this NFC Wildcard game as they have begun to play well in the last few games of the regular season.
The one thing to watch in this matchup will be the quarterback play as two of the league’s best gunslingers will be going head to head. Aaron Rodgers will be looking to get his Packers offense going early, while NFL MVP candidate Michael Vick will be trying to do the same for the Eagles.
Personally, I believe Vick is the toughest quarterback to defend in this league next to Tom Brady. Not only is Vick without a doubt the fastest quarterback with his feet, but he has finally brought a legitimate passing threat to his game which has taken his team to the next level.
The Philadelphia Eagles will definitely have their work cut out for them moving forward against teams like the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints and the top seeded Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Conference playoffs, but they will first have to get the best of the Green Bay Packers who will not be going down without a fight.
As of right now, the Eagles have been given the slight edge in this playoff game with a -3 point spread. Even though I believe the Packers will put up a fight, the Eagles will come out on top in my opinion while covering the spread.
