New York Jets (9-7)

No other team in the NFL made more of an improvement last season than Rex Ryan’s New York Jets.

Not only have the Gang Green become arguably the best defense in the NFL, but they also are looking like Super Bowl title contenders heading into this season.

The offense still needs work with second-year quarterback Mark Sanchez still a bit wet behind the ears, but with the addition of former NFL MVP running back LaDainian Tomlinson and former Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the youngster will get some much needed help this season.

New England Patriots (10-6)

Over the last two seasons, the New England Patriots have gone from perennial Super Bowl title contenders to a team that tends to fly under the radar in the AFC Conference.

Even though they still have relatively the same team intact, at least on the offensive side of the football, the Patriots are being given much chance to compete for another Super Bowl title, but they might surprise some teams this season as Tom Brady and company seem to be back to form.

Although many online sportsbooks like the Jets for this division, we could certainly see the Pats bringing it home instead.

Miami Dolphins (7-9)

Living and dying by the Wildcat offense has served the Miami Dolphins well over the last two years as they have one AFC East title to their credit and always seem to keep opposing defenses on their toes, but the wear and tear and running backs Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams has started to take its toll.

As long as Brown and Williams stay healthy, the Dolphins have a legitimate shot to make the playoffs, but along with having arguably one of the best ground games in the league, Miami has also added one of the best wide receivers in the game in Brandon Marshall.

It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins do this season, but ultimately I see them finishing third in the division and most likely missing the playoffs for a second straight season.

Buffalo Bills (6-10)

Even though many people believed that the Buffalo Bills were on their way up the ranks in the AFC Conference coming into last season, they continued to struggle and finished the year with 10 losses and little hope for the future.

Fortunately, the Bills were able to draft a promising young prospect in the 2010 NFL Draft in rookie running back C.J. Spiller, but despite his obvious skill and potential, Buffalo should finish fourth in the AFC East and near the bottom of the AFC Conference once again. Most NFL football betting sportsbooks have the Bills at +2500 to win the AFC East, so there is big money to be had should they turn things around.
