It’s Wednesday, which means that tomorrow the NFL Draft will begin.  Who has the first five picks?  Will the Rams choose a quarterback first to add to their team?  Will Roethlisberger be traded because of his six game suspension?  To answer this last question, it’s unlikely that Roethlisberger will be traded even if he is on suspension for six games, give or take depending on cooperation.  The possibility is still there, though, so Roethlisberger should be prepared just in case.

The St. Louis Rams have the first draft pick.  More than likely, the Rams are going to go with choosing a quarterback with the first pick – Sam Bradford, to be exact.  However, it’s also possible, but less likely, for the Rams to take their first pick and choose Gerald McCoy from Oklahoma or Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska.  The logical pick will be Bradford and will probably be the way that the Rams go.

The Detroit Lions are probably going to swing in the direction of drafting Suh provided that the Rams don’t go that direction to begin with.  Suh is one of the best prospects in the NFL draft from college.  However, McCoy is also an alternate pick for the Lions as well as Oklahoma State OT Russell Okung.  They need a strong left tackle, but if Suh is still around after the Rams make their first pick, it may be hard to pass him up for the Lions’ second pick.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have third pick and will likely lean towards drafting McCoy, who will be able to drastically enhance the team’s defense.

The Washington Redskins come in with fourth draft pick and probably plans to draft Okung, as he is one of the best in the draft pool in terms of offensive tackle.  Donovan McNabb is now with the Washington Redskins and they need an offensive tackle that will be able to offer protection that is more efficient after 46 sacks were allowed last season.

Fifth draft pick belongs to Kansas City Chiefs who will probably draft Bryan Bulaga for offensive tackle.  He is someone that can provide proper protection for Matt Cassel who the team spent $63 million for.

Rounding off the top ten draft picks are the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars respectively.
