Liverpool Beats Darmstadt To End Preseason

In a 3-1 victory over Bundesliga team SV Darmstadt 98 on Monday at Preston North End’s Deepdale Stadium, Liverpool completed their preseason.
Within ten minutes, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota had put Jurgen Klopp’s team up 2-0, but Darmstadt, who had been out from Germany’s top division for six years, responded through Mathias Honsak.
With Luis Diaz’s deft flick at the near post, Liverpool newcomer Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner kick was deflected into the goal as the hosts continued to control play shortly before the hour mark.
On Sunday, the 2023–24 Premier League season gets underway with Liverpool playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool, which placed fifth in the Premier League last year and will compete in the Europa League this year, finished fifth.
As Liverpool continues to expand the Anfield Road stand, which is anticipated to be finished by October, the game was played at Deepdale.
