Man United Signs £64m Deal With Rasmus Højlund

Manchester United announced on Saturday that it has signed Atalanta forward Rasmus Hjlund to a five-year contract.
The 20-year-old attacker would cost United £64 million ($82 million) plus an additional £8 million ($10 million) in add-ons, according to an ESPN report from last month.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, has been looking to add to his options up front for the upcoming season. The club chose to concentrate on Hjlund after passing on offers for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.
It is no secret that Hjlund has supported Manchester United since he was a little child, and he stated in a statement that one of his dreams was to play for the club.
“This opportunity to make that ambition a reality excites me tremendously, and I’m determined to repay the club’s faith in me. Even though it is still early in my career, I am confident that I am ready to advance and join this team of elite athletes.
According to sources speaking to ESPN, although Ten Hag had previously sought to add an experienced striker to his team, the Dutchman has changed his mind because of the potential of teenager Hjlund.
After speaking with the manager, Hjlund continued, “I knew that this environment would be ideal for my development.”
“I am thrilled to get the chance to collaborate with one of the top instructors in the world. Together with my new teammates at this unique club, I am confident that I can accomplish great things with his help.
In 32 Serie A games for Atalanta last year, Hjlund scored nine goals.
The international from Denmark is United’s third summer addition, joining goalkeeper André Onana from Inter Milan and midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea.
John Murtough, director of football at United, said: “We have moved swiftly and decisively throughout the summer to capture our major objectives early in the transfer season. This will guarantee that Erik and his coaches have the best chance to get the team ready to push for further success in the thrilling upcoming season.
