Last season the Chicago Bears were team on the verge of finally being able to turn it around as they were able to bring in a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback to run the offense after making a trade with the Denver Broncos to acquire Jay Cutler.

At first glance, this deal was immediately going to make the Chicago Bears a better football team as they hadn’t had a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback under center since the days of Mike Ditka. Even though Cutler had the potential to be one of the best QBs in this league with a cannon for a throwing arm and the ability to scramble with the best of them, the young quarterback really struggled in his first year under center in the Windy City.

Fortunately, this year was another story altogether as Cutler was able to get back on track and lead this offense. Along with Cutler getting the offense going, the Bears defense also got back to form and best one of the league’s best once again.

The Chicago Bears played so well throughout the regular season that they won the NFC North division title and made it all the way to the NFC Championship game. Unfortunately, the Bears were unable to get the best of their arch rivals in the Green Bay Packers as Jay Cutler went down early with a mysterious knee injury.

Not only was Cutler walking around the sidelines with no apparent pain and the same look blank look on his face that he always has, a lot of people started to question the quarterback’s toughness as he never tried to re-enter the game and was content with watching his team lose on the bench.

Apparently, Cutler’s knee injury was for real as it has been reported that he suffered a sprained MCL and was told he could not go back in the game.

Personally, I believe this is a bunch of BS as Jay Cutler looked fine and was walking up and down the sidelines and rarely sitting down to rest his injured knee. In the near future, I bet we will hear differently about this “sprained MCL” that was bad enough to keep him out of one of the most important games in Chicago Bears’ history.
