The Chicago Bears made a big move before the beginning of last season by trading for one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL in the then Denver Broncos Pro Bowl gunslinger Jay Cutler. At first glance, the move looked to drastically improve a struggling offense that hasn’t had a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback since the days of Mike Ditka’s Bears back in the 80s.

Unfortunately, Culter really struggled in his first year as the Chicago Bears’ main man under center and was considered somewhat of a bust. Despite his first season in the Windy City being as disappointing as they come, the Bears still had faith in their new starting quarterback and came into this NFL regular season with high hopes of turning things around.

Even though the Bears have struggled at times this season when trying to protect Jay Cutler, Chicago were able to turn things around and quickly become one of the best teams in the NFC Conference and ultimately won the NFC North division title while clinching a first-round bye in the playoffs.

As if clinching a first-round bye in the playoffs wasn’t promising enough, the Chicago Bears were matched up with the lowly Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional round in what was thought to be a blowout. Even though the Seattle Seahawks took down the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in the first round, Matt Hassellback and company had their hands full trying to get the best of this Chicago Bears defense.

The Chicago Bears’ lockdown defense may have done their job against the Seattle Seahawks offense, but it was Jay Cutler that stole the show with perhaps his best performance as a pro with a 317 total yards (274 passing, 43 rushing) and four total touchdowns (two passing, two rushing).

Needless to say, the Bears just cruised to victory this past weekend with an impressive 35-24 victory over the Seahawks. Now they will have to square off against the division rival Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game next week. As of today, Green Bay is favored by 3.5 according to the worlds best online sportsbooks.
