New York Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers Sun. Dec. 19th 2010 4:15pm EST
The New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers are arguably two of the best teams in the NFL right now and have without a doubt to the toughest defenses to face in the league, but in Week 15 these two dominant defenses will go head-to-head in what could be one of the best games of the week.
Even though a few weeks ago this matchup would have been the headline matchup as both teams were amongst the top five in the league, the New York Jets have really struggled as of late as they have lost two straight to the New England Patriots (45-3) and the Miami Dolphins (10-6).
With that being said, this one Super Bowl title contender has started to fall apart, especially on the offensive side of the football as quarterback Mark Sanchez has really struggled to put points on the board for this team.
Coming into this matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, there was never a worst time for this New York Jets offense to be struggling as the Steelers have the best run defense in the league and will almost certainly put a lot of pressure on Mark Sanchez.
As of right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers are favored come out on top in this one with a -5.5 point spread and even though the New York Jets might give them a run for their money if they can get back on track offensively, I really can’t see them getting the best of Mike Tomlin’s squad who are firing on all cylinders right now.
With Troy Polamalu and company playing at high level right now, this game is bound to be a nightmare for the Jets as they will almost certainly be headed for their third straight loss.
