New York Jets @ Chicago Bears Sun. Dec. 26th 2010 1pm EST

The New York Jets and the Chicago Bears have arguably two of the best defenses in the league this season, but heading into Week 16’s showdown between these two great defenses, only the Bears have been able to punch their ticket into the playoffs while the Jets fate is still to be determined.

Even though the Jets haven’t been able to clinch a playoff spot just yet and have struggled on the offensive side of the football in the second half of the regular season, Mark Sanchez and company are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season against the playoff bound Pittsburgh Steelers.

This win over the Steelers was just what this team needed to get back on track, but they will have their work cut out for them this weekend as they will travel to Chicago to take on the only team in the league that has been able to win their division title (NFC North) in the Bears.

Fortunately, with the Bears already playoff bound, Jay Cutler and company may be taking it easy this weekend in Chicago to make sure they are healthy for the postseason.

This obviously bodes well for the New York Jets, but even if the Chicago Bears aren’t taking this game too seriously, Rex Ryan’s offense will have a tough challenge ahead of them against the Bears defense that hasn’t made it easy for any offense this season.

As of right now, the Chicago Bears are the favorites to come out on top in this matchup with a -2 point spread. Even though the Bears are favored, I believe the Jets have gotten back on track and should get the win this weekend.
