The NFC West division is without a doubt the new worst division in the NFL as the first (St. Louis Rams) and second place (Seattle Seahawks) teams have identical losing records at 6-8, but the division is the worst in the league, the division winner will still make the playoffs.

Coming into Week 16, the St. Louis Rams and number one overall pick Sam Bradford are leading the way in the division, but they will need to win their next two games in order to hold off the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers from reaching the top spot in the NFC West.

With that being said, this weekend’s NFC West showdown between the 49ers and the up and coming Rams will basically be a playoff game as the 49ers will need to win in order to stay in contention and the Rams will have to get the win to stay atop the division. As of right now, the St. Louis Rams are favored to come out on top in this matchup and for good reason as they are without a doubt the better team. The San Francisco 49ers may be the team with more talent on both sides of the football, but they definitely haven’t shown it this season and as a result I believe the Rams will come out with the win.

The point spread right now is -2.5 in favor of the St. Louis Rams. This game will no doubt be a hard fought battle from start to finish, but I just can’t see the 49ers coming out with the win as they just haven’t played consistently good football all season long.

The one thing to watch in this game will be rookie quarterback Sam Bradford going up against the 49ers defense. If Bradford has a good game, and I believe he will, the Rams will win this game.
