Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens Sun. Jan. 2nd 2010 1pm EST
One of the most competitive divisions in the NFL today is without a doubt the AFC North. No matter what the records are of these four teams (Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens) they always seem to give each other a run for their money when they meet in the regular season and the playoffs.
Last season the Cincinnati Bengals were the team to beat within the AFC North as Carson Palmer and company went undefeated in division play and cruised to a division title, but this season it has been the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens that have been the top dogs and in the running to win the division title. Coming into Week 17, neither the Steelers nor the Ravens have been able to wrap up the division title, but only one team can come out on top after this week as the division title will be on the line when they take the field this weekend.
Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens relatively easy matchups ahead of them as Ben Roethlisberger and company will take on the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals,
Unfortunately for the Ravens, all the Steelers have to do is get the win over the Browns, but if Pittsburgh does lose to Cleveland, Baltimore will win the division title with a win over Cincinnati.
As of right now, the spread for this game is fairly high at -9.5 in favor of Baltimore. Even though I believe the Ravens will come out with the win this weekend in Baltimore, I don’t think they will be able to cover this spread which leads me to believe that take the Bengals at +9.5 is the better bet.
