St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks Sun. Jan. 2nd 2010 8:20pm EST
There is no question at this point in the NFL regular season that the NFC West division is by far the worst division in the league. Even though there are some very talented players on the four teams (San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals) in the NFC West, none of these teams have been able to make an impression on the rest of the league this season besides the up and coming St. Louis Rams.
With rookie quarterback Sam Bradford under center, this St. Louis Rams has gone from the worst team in the league to a team that is on the verge of winning their division title and heading into the playoffs.
Coming into this season, no one expected much from Sam Bradford and company as it was thought it would take much more than a former Heisman trophy winning quarterback to turn this struggling franchise around. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case as Bradford has seemingly singlehandedly turned the Rams around and given them a legitimate shot of being a force to be reckoned with once again.
In Week 17, the Rams and the Seahawks will be two of a just a handful of teams around the league that have something to play for. Not only can both of these teams clinch a playoff spot with a win over the other, but they will also take home the NFC West division title (which isn’t really saying much this year).
As of right now, the St. Louis Rams have been given the edge in this matchup with a -1 point spread. Obviously, this spread is only indicating that the Rams will win the game and I believe that will ultimately be the case.
