Kansas City Chiefs vs Cleveland Browns Sun. Sept. 19th 1pm EST

Over the past few years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been nothing more than a joke in the NFL and almost guaranteed to finish in last place in the AFC West division, but this season they have already shown some signs of turning things around on both sides of the football after beating the Super Bowl title contending San Diego Chargers in Week 1 with a thrilling Monday Night Football victory 21-14.

Obviously, the Week 1 win over the Chargers could be just a fluke, but the way there is no doubting that Chiefs played extremely well on offense with a solid running game led by running back Jamaal Charles (92 rushing yards, one touchdown) and a 94-yard punt return for a touchdown by Dexter McCluster.

This should be an interesting game, and the odds are not set, but should be updated by the worlds best online sportsbooks in the next day or so.

Now the ground game was firing on all cylinders and the Chiefs lucked out with the run back by McCluster, but Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel did struggle a bit as he finished with just 68 yards and a touchdown on 10 competed passes on 22 attempts.

So even though the passing game still needs some work, the Chiefs are quickly starting to come together and with the Cleveland Browns being their next opponent in Week 2, Matt Cassel and company could easily start the season 2-0 and lead the way in the AFC West division.

As for the Cleveland Browns, they are already off to a rough start as they weren’t able to get the best of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, but if they can get past this much improved Kansas City Chiefs defense they might be able to pull off the win.

Ironically enough, the Chiefs are favored to lose this matchup with the Browns with a -1 point spread in Cleveland’s favor, but I really can’t see Jake Delhomme and company getting the best of this up and coming team in Week 2.
