Minnesota Vikings vs New England Patriots Sun. Oct. 31st 4:15pm EST
The Minnesota Vikings may have come into this NFL regular season as legitimate Super Bowl title contenders with three-time NFL MVP quarterback Brett Favre back under center for one more season before he finally calls it quits, but things haven’t worked out the way head coach Brad Childress anticipated as his team has failed to live up to expectations and will head into Week 8’s matchup with the New England Patriots with just two wins.
Even though it might be a little too late for the Minnesota Vikings as they will have one hell of a mountain to climb in the second half of the season, a win against the New England Patriots in Week 8 could be just what they need to turn their season around and possibly contend for a playoff spot in the NFC Conference.
The one major problem the Vikings will have against the Patriots is at the quarterback position as it seems that head coach Brad Childress might be leaning towards starting backup quarterback Tavaris Jackson as Brett Favre is dealing with fractures in his injured ankle.
As predicted, the superstar quarterback has said that he would like to start regardless of his injured ankle that is still causing him to limp around, but his legendary consecutive starts streak of 291 games in a row might be coming to an end as Childress has said that he would rather have a healthy and mobile Jackson under center instead.
As of right now, the spread for this game is leaning in the New England Patriots favor at -5.5 and for good reason as the quarterback play for the Minnesota Vikings is in serious question.
Personally, I believe the Patriots should cruise to victory in this one, but Tavaris Jackson might be just what this team needs and could pull off the slight upset.
