New York Jets vs Detroit Lions Sun. Nov. 7th 1pm EST
The New York Jets will still be feeling the sting of the loss to the Green Bay Packers coming into Week 9’s matchup against the Detroit Lions, but they will have a perfect opportunity to get back on track as they will look to take advantage of this young team that is still trying to find its identity.
Even though I believe that the Detroit Lions will be one of the better teams in the league in the near future, they will struggle in Week 9 as the New York Jets defense will look to dominate this up and coming offense led by quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. This is a great NFL football betting matchup.
There is no question that the Lions have started to turn the corner this season, especially with Stafford playing like a Pro Bowler against the Washington Redskins last week in his return, but their potent offense will have their work cut out for them this week when they go up against the likes of shutdown corner Darrelle Revis and Rex Ryan’s lockdown defense.
As of right now, the New York Jets are favored to come out on top in this matchup with a -3.5 point spread. That spread is pretty low in my opinion as I can see a blowout in the making here as New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan will be looking to get his once potent offense back on track as the Green Bay Packers embarrassed Mark Sanchez and company last week by shutting them out.
The Detroit Lions are more than capable of giving the New York Jets a run for their money in Week 9, but I just can’t see them coming out with the win as it will be a statement game by Rex Ryan’s squad.
