San Diego Chargers (13-3)

The San Diego Chargers are without a doubt the best team in the AFC West division and arguably one of the best teams in the NFL.

Over the last six years, the Chargers have absolutely dominated the AFC West division as they have won the division title five times out the last six years and have been legitimate Super Bowl title contenders in the process.

This season the Chargers will have to play without former NFL MVP running back LaDainian Tomlinson after releasing him in the offseason, but they have a promising rookie running back Ryan Matthews out of Fresno State that Norv Turner and company believe is the future of the franchise.

Even though the competition in the division has gotten tougher, the Chargers should come out on top once again. The top online sportsbooks are betting on the Chargers by putting them at -333 to win the division.

Oakland Raiders (5-11)

Over the past half decade or so, the Oakland Raiders have been a joke and amongst the worst teams in the league with consistently bad draft choices and an inability to get any kind of chemistry on the gridiron.

Fortunately, this year things are starting to look up for the struggling NFL franchise after they acquired quarterback Jason Campbell from the Washington Redskins this offseason.

Whether or not Campbell can turn things around in Oakland remains to be seen, but early reports say that the Raiders could be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Denver Broncos (8-8)

The Denver Broncos have gone through some drastic changes over the past two years as they have had to break in a new head coach in Josh McDaniels and a new starting quarterback in Kyle Orton.

Despite the drastic changes, the Broncos have done better than expected, but this season they might take a backseat the Oakland Raiders as they try and get their offense going without perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall (Miami Dolphins) and Pro Bowl linebacker Elvis Dumervil (torn pectoral muscle).

Kansas City Chiefs (4-12)

Before last season, the Kansas City Chiefs acquired a promising young quarterback from the New England Patriots in Matt Cassel, but even though having Cassel under center was a vast improvement to the offense, the Chiefs still have a ways to go before they can contend in the AFC West once again.

The one player that could really help this team turn things around this season is rookie safety Eric Berry (Tennessee). With his help in the secondary, the Chiefs will become a much better defensive team, but they will most likely finish last in the division this season.
