The Green Bay Packers have had a rough season this year, but now they are just one win away from representing the NFC Conference in the Super Bowl. In the first round of the playoffs, the Green Bay Packers were able to take down Michael Vick’s Philadelphia Eagles with some lockdown defense.
Coming into the Divisional round, the Green Bay Packers had their work cut out for them as they had to take on the number one seeded Atlanta Falcons at home at the Georgia Dome. Even though the Packers came into this past weekend as underdogs, they definitely didn’t play like it as the Packers dominated the Falcons defense throughout the majority of this matchup.
In the first half of this football game, the offense of both teams struggled to get going, but once the Packers got on a roll offensively, there was just no stopping them. Not only was the Packers offense firing on all cylinders, but perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers had perhaps his most impressive performance as a pro with 366 yards passing and four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing).
Not only was Rodgers performance against the Falcons impressive to say the least, but he may have finally quieted his critics as he now has two playoffs wins on his resume and could quite possibly be headed to the Super Bowl after leading his team into the NFC Championship Game with a dominant 48-21 win over Atlanta.
Even though the Green Bay Packers have defied the odds in two consecutive weeks, they may have their toughest challenge ahead of them as they will face off against the division rival Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship Game.
Fortunately the Packers are already -3 point favorites, but whether or not they can get the best of their hated rivals remains to be seen.
