It is no secret that there is no love lost between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets as these two AFC East division rivals clearly don’t like each other, but considering that the Patriots embarrassed the Jets back in Week 13 with a 45-3 blowout, New York talking trash before their Divisional round showdown in the playoffs seems a bit ridiculous.

The New York Jets are not a team to stay quite in the media as head coach Rex Ryan is as outspoken as they come and players like Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Braylon Edwards also like stirring the pot before big matchups, but this week the Jets may have taken trash talk to whole new level as Cromartie has put Patriots superstar quarterback Tom Brady on blast.

Apparently, the cornerback has called the Patriots gunslinger an “ass—-“ when referring to what kind of guy the NFL MVP frontrunner is. The Jets players saying something like this about a guy that destroyed them the last time they played him is no real surprise, but the Patriots are not a team to get rattled or upset about things upcoming opponents say in the media.

Rex Ryan has made a point of it lately to basically called out whoever he is facing the next week like he did on Wild-card weekend with four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning, but this time the Jets head coach may have bitten off more than he can chew as he has said that this matchup will come down to him and the Patriots three-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick.

Much like Tom Brady, Bill Belichick tends to ignore anything said about him in the press, including Rex Ryan’s comments about their upcoming showdown.

This definitely makes this matchup more intriguing, but ultimately I believe the New England Patriots should come away with another convincing victory over their division rivals.
