Heading into Super Bowl Sunday, one of the main things the Green Bay Packers will be concerned about is whether or not they can run the football against the best run defense in the NFL. With the Pittsburgh Steelers defense being nearly impossible to run against during the regular season and the playoffs, Packers’ running back James Starks will have his work cut out for him when he does get the football as he will struggle to get even a few yards from scrimmage.

Fortunately, the Packers offense thrives on the passing game as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league in getting all his wide receivers involved. So with Rodgers most likely throwing the pigskin all over the football field, it probably won’t even matter whether or not the Green Bay Packers have a running game.

Obviously though, a defense as good as the Pittsburgh Steelers will have anticipated the fact that the Green Bay Packers get most of their offense through the air. With that being said, the Steelers will almost certainly concentrate on stopping Aaron Rodgers in the passing game.

So with the Steel Curtain ready to try and contain Aaron Rodgers from throwing 300+ yards and possibly scrambling all over the field, Pittsburgh might get surprised by Starks coming out of the backfield.

Personally, I believe the Green Bay Packers will get enough offense out of the passing game and will most likely not have to worry about getting any production their running backs, but you never know what can happen on Super Bowl Sunday as Green Bay might he forced the change of their game plan in order to contend with the likes of Troy Polamalu and company.

It should be interesting to see how this game pans out as both these teams are pretty evenly matched and could be poised to be put on a show on the NFL’s biggest stage.
