The Dallas Cowboys are arguably one of the most storied franchises in the NFL today and even though they haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996, America’s Team always have a lot of pressure on them to win another title every single season.

Last season was somewhat of a do or die situation for the Dallas Cowboys as heads were almost certainly going to roll if the team was unable to make the playoffs and win at least one game in the postseason. Fortunately, they were able to win the NFC East title, cruise into the playoffs and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round, but were ultimately knocked out by the Minnesota Vikings in the next round.

Despite being unable able to contend for a Super Bowl title last year, the season was considered a mild success and enough to keep quarterback Tony Romo behind center and head coach Wade Philips on the sidelines.

Heading into next season, the pressure will be on once again, perhaps even more so as America’s Team has the opportunity to play a Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in February.

Even though that is still a long ways off, the Cowboys did make their team much better this offseason by adding arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL Draft in Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant. With the addition of Bryant alongside Jason Witten, Roy Williams and Miles Austin, the Cowboys could make an argument for being the best offense in the league.

On Thursday, the Cowboys were able to lock up their rookie wide receiver by signing him to a five-year deal worth $11.8 million dollars. Along with keeping him in Dallas for at least the next five years, the Cowboys have made the rookie wideout a happy man by making $8.3 million of his new contract guaranteed money.

Dez has all the right in the world to refuse to carry someone else’s sweaty pads.
The veterans in this team can definitely find another way to deal with Bryant.
He knows he will have to show some respect sooner rather than later.
