The Washington Redskins have finally inked their first-round 2010 NFL Draft pick to a contract.  Trent Williams, the 4th overall NFL draft pick this year and one of the highest tackle prospects in the draft, will be signing his contract Friday morning before reporting to practice at the team’s training camp.  The deal was only complete a short couple of hours prior to the commencement of training camp Friday morning.

The contract is for six years and is worth $60 million.  The six-year deal reportedly has just under $37 million guaranteed will put an end to the holdout of Williams.  Williams, out of Oklahoma State as offensive tackle, did not attend training camp practice on Thursday and was considered a holdout.  He had no intentions on a very extensive holdout as he was ready to sign with the Skins and be on his way to practicing with the team.

Williams is now the highest first round top pick from the 2010 NFL draft that has signed with a team.  Other first rounders have signed such as Dez Bryant, Tim Tebow, and Devin McCourty.

Williams was an All-American and a choice for First-Team All-District 12 in 2009 as a senior at high school in Longview, Texas.  He was listed at 28th position for the top offensive guard prospect in the entire nation.

The 6-foot-5 Texas native rookie is expected to be the Washington Redskins start in left tackle position since Chris Samuels, a six-time Pro Bowler, retired.  The rookie will do well as a left tackle starter with his superior athleticism and swift feet.  He will be on the blind-side of Donovan McNabb and will be a great addition to the Washington Redskins for the upcoming 2010-2011 NFL season.
