Wyndham Championship’s Final Round Resumes

When a line of thunderstorms was expected to approach the area at 4:52 p.m. ET, the Wyndham Championship’s final round was called off.
When play was interrupted, the final group, which included Lucas Glover and Billy Horschel, was finishing off hole 14. They will tee off on hole 15 when play is resumed. At 20 under par, Glover and Russell Henley are joint leaders. On hole 15, Henley and Byeong Hun An will take their approach shots.
Soon after 4 p.m., Sedgefield Country Club’s electronic scoreboards were updated with weather alerts to inform the spectators who were facing 93-degree heat to watch the PGA TOUR Regular Season finale.
By 6 o’clock ET, the storms should have passed. Mark Dusbabek, a PGA TOUR rules officer, told CBS Sports that he anticipates the delay to extend for roughly an hour.
The Wyndham Championship’s final round of play has resumed despite a brief delay caused by thunderstorms in the region, with light rain hitting Sedgefield Country Club.

Play was suspended when the last group, which included Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover, was completed hole 14. When play resumes, they will start their game again on hole 15. At 20 under par, Glover and Russell Henley are presently tied for the tournament lead.
Russell Henley and Byeong Hun An will be firing their approach shots on hole 15 as play continues. These shots will be essential for their hopes of outperforming their rivals given the dampness from the rain and the stress of the final round.
According to PGA TOUR rules officer Mark Dusbabek, the storms should clear around 6 p.m. ET. He said he expected the hold-up to take about an hour, giving the players time to return to the course and keep trying to win.
Thunderstorms cause a temporary delay in the Wyndham Championship, but once the storms pass, play continues. On hole 15, Lucas Glover and Billy Horschel will start their final group. Glover and Russell Henley are now tied for the lead at 20 under par.
