New blood it is for the 2010 MLB World Series.  The Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees (which is something that no one had ever expected) in the best of seven games but only need six games to determine their skill.

Same goes for the San Francisco Giants – they only needed six out of the seven games to show the Philadelphia Phillies they had what it took to throw them to the curb and gain their own ticket to the World Series.

While this is the first time in eight years that the Giants will be in the 2010 Fall Classic, it is the absolute first time the Rangers will be World Series bound in franchise history.  The Giants haven’t actually won the title since 1954.

Game 1 of the 2010 World Series will take place this Wednesday at AT&T Park.  The Giants have never allowed the Rangers to win at their home field so it’s going to be a challenge if Texas plans on starting off their best of seven game series right.

Game 2 on October 28th will also be at San Francisco then Games 3 and 4 on October 30th and 31st respectively will come to Arlington to the Rangers home field.  Game 5 will also be in Arlington on November 1st should it be necessary while Games 6 and 7 will both be back at San Francisco on November 3rd and 4th.

For the Rangers, ace Cliff Lee is definitely the starting pitcher; however, it hasn’t been officially confirmed whether the Giants’ ace starting pitcher Tim Lincecum, who has never pitched against the Rangers to date, will start Game 1.  In fact, it is Matt Cain who is fully rested and ready to start.  Game 2 and 3 will be Colby Lewis and C.J. Wilson for the Rangers although a final decision on which pitcher for which game has gone undecided.

This is definitely a World Series that you aren’t going to want to miss if you are a baseball fan.  We’ll be back before the game with the preview and odds for the game Wednesday night.
