There are only four teams left in the NBA playoffs and for the most part, the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and the Orlando Magic are no real surprise to have gotten this far as they are all playing at an extremely high level.

Even though many people anticipated the Dallas Mavericks playing in the Phoenix Suns place in the Western Conference finals or the Cleveland Cavaliers getting past the Boston Celtics to reach the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight season, that just hasn’t been the case and for good reason.

All season long no one really gave the Boston Celtics much of a chance to compete with the likes of LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers or Dwight Howard’s Orlando Magic, but after game one of the Eastern Conference finals, it seems as the Kevin Garnett and company might just be the best team in the East right now.

Despite being pretty banged up during the NBA regular season with injuries to Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the Boston Celtics have been able to get healthy at just the right time and are starting to show signs of the life as they look more and more like the team that won an NBA title a couple of years ago.

Not only were the Celtics able to get that lockdown defense back to form in the second round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they have been able to keep up that intensity on the defensive end against the defending Eastern Conference champs with an impressive win in game one 92-88.

The Orlando Magic did manage to get back into this game late in the fourth quarter, but the Boston Celtics dominated Dwight Howard and company throughout the entire game with their physical play.

There is still a long way to go in this series, but the Celtics have struck the first blow and are looking as good as ever heading into game two!
