There have been a lot of surprises in the NBA this season with some teams and players around the league, but few teams have been as surprising, in terms of success, than the Charlotte Bobcats.

Last season the Charlotte Bobcats and then president Michael Jordan made a bold decision and move to bring hall of fame head coach Larry Brown. Even though Brown has made his coaching legacy in other cities around the country, the former Tar Heel has come back to North Carolina to lead yet another NBA franchise to the playoffs.

In just a two seasons patrolling the sidelines for the Charlotte Bobcats, Larry Brown has been able to turn one of the worst teams in the league into a playoff team.

As of right now, the Charlotte Bobcats are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and headed towards a first round matchup against the second seed Orlando Magic. Obviously, that probably means that the Bobcats will be heading home early as Dwight Howard and company are as tough to beat as any team in the league, but what happens next season is what is on everyone’s mind moving forward.

The Bobcats definitely have a team that can compete with the best of them in the near future with players like Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace leading the way, but recently the future of Larry Brown as their head coach is in serious doubt.

Apparently, both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers have some serious interest in bringing in Larry Brown to lead their franchises from the NBA’s worst to possible playoff contenders.

Brown has history with both these teams as he has coached both the Clippers (1992-1993) and the 76ers (1997-2003) at one point in time during his head coaching career. The hall of famer’s success was definitely better with Philly as he helped guide them to NBA Finals in 2001.

If Larry Brown does decide to make a change it will most likely be back to Philly as his wife and kids still reside there, but the Los Angeles Clippers might be a more attractive destination with a very talented team to work with.
