With the NBA trade deadline come and gone and teams no longer capable of actually making trades this season, the only option left for teams around the league to improve their squads or make up for injuries is signing free agents or recently waived players.

Over the past few years, this has turned out to be a very popular way of making great teams even better as most of the time these free agents at this point in the season are players that have recently been bought out veterans and seasoned professionals.

With that being said, one player here or there can make the difference between a good playoff team and an NBA title contender. One veteran player that is getting a lot of talk after recently being bought out by the Washington Wizards is point guard Mike Bibby.

During his time with the Sacramento Kings and short stint with the Atlanta Hawks, Mike Bibby has been a solid point guard that doesn’t put up eye-popping numbers, but can get the job done on both ends of the floor. With those kinds of skills and playoff experience, Bibby is worth his weight in gold to some of the title contenders around the league who are looking to get that missing piece of the puzzle for the playoffs.

Reportedly, the two teams most interested in Mike Bibby’s services are the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. With the Heat been extremely inconsistent the point guard position and going back and forth between two players, GM Pat Riley would love to get his hands a veteran player of Bibby’s caliber.

As of right now, the Heat seem to be the frontrunner for Mike Bibby, but the Boston Celtics will also be trying to sign the veteran as they have a pretty big hole at the backup point guard position after trading Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
